Pueblo de los Muertos | Peru

A short video of our exploration of the the heavily ransacked Pueblo de los Muertos (Village of the Dead), a collection of stone tombs that sit high up on a mountain ledge with sweeping views of the valley below. These tombs were crafted by the Chachapoya between 1100 A.D. and 1350 A.D, and some of the designs are said to be the exact same as Egyptian hieroglyphics. It was humbling experience to be here, thinking about the effort involved so many ages ago to preserve the memories of lost loved ones.
