Cathedral Provincial Park

First camp trip of 2016 and the first one with the Super Adventure. It’s been awhile since we have packed up for a camping trip so we were feeling unpracticed as we started running through what we needed. We don’t have much space so every item has to be carefully thought out and serve a purpose. Watching as our supplies accumulated, I was skeptical that it was all going to fit. Surprisingly (or not) everything fit and plus some. This bike even has the space for our food and water for a weekend trip, a luxury in comparison to our last bike. Many times last year, due to lack of space, we would have to pick up our food supplies as needed – in addition, I would have to hold the bag of groceries on my lap until we reached camp… This trip was off to a good start already! untitled-9987untitled-0002untitled-0033untitled-0076
We set up camp at the Lakeview Campground in Cathedral Provincial Park. We got our Hennessy Hammock at the end of last years camping season and slept in it only twice. It still gets quite chilly at nights and so we were looking forward to finding out how well the hammock would hold up in the cooler evenings. I plan on writing a post specifically about the hammock as we get to know it and use it a bit more but I will tell you that after this weekend we still love it – probably even more than we did last year. It kept us warm, is super comfortable and is compact, lightweight and easy to set up.

Our campsite was located right on the bank of the Ashnola River. Currently, the water levels are high and constantly thunders by, crashing on the large rocks and fallen trees. It was so loud that unless we were standing right beside each other we couldn’t hear what the other was saying. In the 12 hours we had our camp set up, we had over a dozen deer walk through the forest right near us, unable to hear us over the loud-rushing river.

The second day we decided to pack up camp and move on. (We have a real hard time sitting still/staying in one place.) We have been wanting to ride the Princeton-Summerland road for awhile now so made our way in that direction. We found a campsite along trout creek and set up for the night.

Normally we go to bed at dark but sometimes our Speed tournaments get really intense and we play into the night.
